The endorsement journey of Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan is one of the most preferred faces for brands in India. Over the years, the actor has done several endorsements including – Coca-Cola, Godrej, Titan Watches, Tata Sky, Toyota Innova, Samsung, Monaco Biscuits, Vivo, Datsun and Snapdeal.

Aamir doesn’t like to endorse more than one brand at a time.  Aamir has also been the face of Incredible India “Atithi Devo Bhavah” campaign for a long time. In the endorsement world, the celebrity beings the associations of ‘quality’, ‘meaningfulness’ and exclusivity to the brands.

In 2004, Titan announced Aamir as their brand ambassador and has been associated with the brand on several future associations as late as 2011.

In 2010, Aamir bagged a whopping deal of Rs 35 crore as a part of UAE’s telecom giant Etisalat’s mobile contract and was the ambassador for three consecutive years. Aamir’s association with Coca-Cola lasted for over a decade starting with the iconic ad series “Thanda Matlab Coca-Cola:.

In 2015, he was the most expensive celebrity endorser in the country charging anywhere between Rs 5-7 crore a day. According to media reports, his association with Snapdeal earned him a jaw-dropping Rs 30 crore, making him the most expensive celebrity brand ambassador. THe ‘ Dil ki Deal’ campaign was successful and ran across all media. In 2016, he had no endorsement brands in his kitty when Snapdeal decided not to renew its contract.

In 2017, Aamir came back to the scene partnering with Star’s Nayi Soch’ campaign and message on Women Empowerment on Women’s Day.

Since 2018, Aamir has been endorsing Vivo mobiles replacing the then brand ambassador Ranveer Singh. According to celebrity managers, Aamir Khan charges approximately Rs 4 crore per day of shooting taking his annual brand endorsement fee to Rs12-15 crore.
